July 4th Hours for MS Coast Waste, Libraries, More

Various offices and services are experiencing disruptions due to the holiday.

Here’s what to expect in the coming week.

WASTE COLLECTION

Harrison County:

For Waste Management’s residential trash and recycling, all routes and services will be as scheduled on July 4th and the rest of the week. Please have carts at the curb by 6am.

Jackson County:

The landfill is closed on July 4.

Garbage and waste collection are not affected by the holiday. All routes are running according to schedule.

Waste Pro:

Waste, Garbage and Recycling will not drive on thursday and be one day behind for the rest of the week.

Coastal environmental services:

Diamondhead, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, non-affiliated areas of Hancock County: Garbage pickup will be operating their normal routes and schedules for the holiday, but their offices will be closed. Please have carts out by 4 a.m. on pickup day.

GOVERNMENT OFFICES

All government offices are closed on Thursday, July 4.

LIBRARIES

Hancock County Library System: All five branches are closed on Thursday and Friday. The libraries have a free online service with access to audiobooks, magazines, films and general information. Online services are available 24/7.

Harrison County Library System: All locations will be closed from Thursday July 4th through Sunday July 7th. They will reopen on Monday.

Jackson-George Regional Library System: All locations will be closed on Thursday, July 4. Locations will reopen on Friday, July 5. Book drop-off locations will be open for returns and all online services will be available for renewals, reservations and use of e-services for cardholders via www.jgrls.org.

Pearl River County Library System: Closed Thursday for Independence Day. Branches will reopen Friday, July 5.

TRANSPORT

Coastal Transit Authority: On Independence Day, July 4, all buses will operate on fixed routes according to the Sunday timetable. From Friday, July 4, the buses will operate according to the normal timetable.

The CTA office closed at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, and reopens at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 5. For more information, call 228-896-8080 or visit www.coasttransit.com.
